This web site is a showcase for my comic strip series, "Harry Lemoy." Since the 1970's, I have drawn some comic strips off and on. In 1996, I began drawing comics on the computer. Prior to that, I have done them the more conventional way: with pen and ink, as well as with pencil and paper.

The current numbering system I use for my strips begins with when I graduated in 1988 from Cartoonerama, a cartooning correspondence course with the late Leo Stoutsenberger as the instructor. Episode 463 was the first one to be drawn on the computer, which is why the episodes begin with this number here. Since I have bought my first scanner in 1998, it is more possible for me to put up the previous comic strip episodes as well. I am also able to do some labor-saving techniques, such as taking roughs drawn on paper, scanning them, and pasting them in panels using such graphics applications as PC Paintbrush.

Since 1997, I have been revamping my comic strip mentally. I have been developing new characters and situations, as well as refining the personality traits of some of the already-existing characters. In summer 1998, I finally began to draw a few of these such episodes. I had also decided to go from the continuation format to the gag-a-day format.

I also consider the possibility of putting up Sunday-formatted strips. There are certain gag ideas that I thought of that require at least five panels, and are thus more well-suited to the Sunday format. Unlike the daily-formatted episodes, the Sunday ones would probably be in color. In the early years after graduating from Cartoonerama, I drew a small handful of Sunday strips.

I am also a programming hobbyist. Using Visual Basic, I created a little program that I can use to automatically draw up preformatted panels. This is one of the earliest stages I do in drawing up each strip on the computer.

I also made a couple of animated films based on my comic strip: Follow Dick Dunce [1984; soundtrack, 1992] and Picture Imperfect [1994].
